Marcy Yerkes Artiste-mail: marcy@southernaccentdesigns.com A native of South Carolina, Marcy Yerkes has made her home in Laconia, NH for the past 21 years. Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art , a Teaching Certification in Art, and has taken advanced studies at Parson's School of Design for illustration in New York. While living in Hilton Head, South Carolina, Marcy did freelance illustrations for various publications and magazines. A house portraiture business was began as a result in using advertising pieces for restaurants. Interior decorators used her services for murals and large canvases. Splashes of Color was a fabric design business started by Marcy in order to raise her children at home. Hand painted specialty work was shipped all over the U.S. to boutique stores.

Marcy advanced into the world of faux in 1994. Faux techniques and applications were just an extension of her years of illustrating and creating murals. It seemed like a natural progression for her career.

Her specialized painting has been featured in the 1997 Designers Showcase at Prescott Farm in Laconia, Yankee Magazine Designers Showcase home of the NH Music Festival in Meredith, Ippolitos Furniture store on Rt. 3 in Meredith, The Willows restaurant in Weirs Beach, also, Marcy's 30 ft. forest mural was featured in Stenciler Magazine in 2002.

She has taken many workshops by the leading faux finisher and writer of Faux Finishing Magazine in 2002. Just Recently one of her murals was featured in NH Home Magazine in the March/April issue. Marcy's work was featured in the 2008 Designer Show House, a custom built hilltop property boasting truly spectacular 320 degree lake and mountain views, located on Serenity Lane in Meredith NH. Marcy's Art is currently featured at an exhibition entitled "Views of Monhegan Island, Maine" at The Gallery at Mill Falls in Meredith. October 3rd Through the 31st 2008
